Chatting with a Sim on a computer will grant points for the Relationship, but no relationship milestones are recorded, thus severely limiting the actual benefit of the points. Even the vanilla cheat objects only grant the relationship tokens Love and crush, but not the Friend token required to perform the interactions at those levels.

A Social Bunny doesn't age naturally, and Set Birthday cheats do not work on them. They claim to have 30 days left as adults, but if they fail using Elixir of Life, it is revealed to actually be closer to days. A Social Bunny despawns immediately if they are idle and their assigned Sim is not present or haven't been assigned a Sim to begin with. Little sparks will jump from fireplaces from time to time, and may catch on objects nearby.

To prevent fires, keep all objects at least two or three tiles away from the front of fireplaces. The chimney part is no danger. Bad Sims are everywhere, and in your neighborhood, you have watch over your Sims. Stop paying attention, and you may find that new plasma TV gone in the morning.

Assuming you have the special events camera on, you'll know immediately when a thief pops onto your lot. Thieves will creep into the house, steal several items, then book it if not caught. Buy Mode and Build Mode will lock so you can't cheat by removing doors or anything.

You can buy a burglar alarm through Buy Mode, in the Electronics sort and the Small Electronics sub-sort. Burglar alarms must be placed inside the house, and they won't trip until the thief actually enters the house. As soon as the burglar alarm gets tripped, all Sims in the house will wake up, and the cops will be summoned. Whether the police are summoned automatically or by a phone call, your Sims will watch as the cop and thief fight.

If the burglar alarm was tripped, the cop WILL win the fight. If not, there's a chance where the burglar will win. Either way, if the thief gets defeated, the cop will shove him in the back of his cruiser, then pay your Sims. If items were stolen, the SimCity Insurance Company gives a fraction of their value back to the family.
